지금은 어떤 자리에 있습니까?

세상의 유명한 사람들  대부분은  태어난 곳부터 남다릅니다.
정치의 중심지, 문화의 중심지, 경제의 중심지에서 태어납니다.
한국에서는 한때  수저이야기가 넘쳐났습니다. 금 수저, 흙 수저 이야기 입니다.
태어날 때부터 누구는 금 수저를 물고, 누구는 흙 수저를 물고  나온다는 얘기입니다.
태어나기 전부터 빈부의 격차를 갖고 태어나서  스스로 바꿀 수 없는 운명적인 상태로 지속되자 삶의 박탈감을 느낀 나머지  자조 섞인 표현으로 드러낸 것입니다.
한국에서 출세는 성실과 정직한 사람의 것이 아니라  금 수저 몫이라는 것입니다.
최근의 경제는 신자본주의 경제체제라고 말합니다. 바로 경제체계가  금 수저에게 적합하도록 되어 있다 라는 것입니다.
그래서 많은 사람들이  "부자는 성공자다 "라고  말합니다. 그러나 예수님은 금수저도 흙 수저도 아닙니다.  아마 흙 수저도 마구간에서 태어난 사람은 없습니다.
요즘 마구간에서 아이를 출생한다면 영아학대로 고발됩니다.
예수님은 이런 비천한 곳에서 출생하셨습니다. 전능하신 하나님의 아들이 이 땅 위에 죄인들을 구원해주시기 위해서 오실 때  범상치 않는 모습으로  오셔야 하는데 낮고 천한 모습으로 오셨습니다.
예수님의 오심은  겸손 그 자체로 오셨습니다. 그리고 공생애를 마치심도 겸손의 본질이셨습니다.  어떻게 보면 예수님의 삶은 마구간의 연속이라고 표현하는 것이 옳을 듯합니다.
세상의 많은 영웅호걸들이  처음 시작은 어렵게 할지라도 나중에는 화려한 성공과 영웅으로  끝을 맺습니다. 그러나 예수님은 처음에도 마구간에서 삶을 시작하시고 마지막 종착지에서도 거처할 곳 하나 없는 마구간이었습니다.  집 없고  헐벗은   사람들과 함께  하며 빈들에서 동굴에서 머리 둘 곳 없이  지내신  분이 예수님이십니다.
다시 말해 낮아지고 낮아지며 십자가를 지셨습니다. 예수님은 한번도 저 화려한 세상의 왕궁을 소망한 적이 없습니다. 더 낮아짐으로 섬기셨고  그 섬기심을 보여주셨습니다.
그러나 진정한 왕은 예수님이십니다. 그분은 왕 중의 왕이십니다.  우리가 예수 그리스도의 성탄을 통해  어떻게 섬겨할지 , 어떤 자리에 있어야 되는지를  깨닫고 실천할 때  주님께서 기뻐하시는  참다운 성탄을 누리게 될 것입니다.
지금은 어떤 자리에 있습니까?  예수님이 계시는 그 낮은 자리가 보여야 할 것입니다.

Where Do You Stand Now?

Almost all the famous individuals in the world have a different beginning, even their place of birth that centers in politics, customs, economics, etc. At one time, all of Republic of Korea talked about spoons, a 'Gold Spoon' and a 'Dirt Spoon'. It was to state that some are born with the gold spoon in their mouth, while others are born with the dirt spoon in their mouth. It was an expression that comes from experiencing the continuous unchangeable gap between rich and poor from birth that resulted in feeling deprived in their life.

In Korea, being successful is not for an honest and faithful individual, but rather for the 'Gold Spoons'. People say that the recent trend of economy leans toward a new capitalism economic structure that is only compatible to the 'Gold Spoons'. Hence, many say that 'Rich are already successful'. However, Lord Jesus is neither the 'Gold Spoon' or 'Dirt Spoon'. Surly not even the 'Dirt Spoon' were born in the manger. If anyone gives birth in a stable in this age, they would be charged with a child abuse. Lord Jesus came to the world in such a lowly and humble place. As the Son of the Almighty omnipotent Lord God coming to this world to save the sinners, He could have come in any extraordinary ways. However, He came in low and menial ways. His coming was humbleness, itself, just as His ending of public ministry. It can be better and accurate description to say Lord Jesus's life was continuous life in the manger.

Numerous heroes and heroines in the world starts small and end with a bang, such as with splendid and showy success and/or respect as hero. However, from Lord Jesus's beginning to His final stop in this world were all in the manger. Lord Jesus was with homeless, naked, and worthless at empty fields, caves, etc. In another words, He became less and low in every turn while carrying the cross. Lord Jesus never hoped for the showy and glamorous worldly kingdom, rather He served in lowest and humblest way. Even so, the true king and the Lord of all Lords is Lord Jesus. When we learn and act out how to serve others and where one should stand through Lord Jesus Christ's Holy Birth, we are able to experience the true Christmas that Lord Jesus delights in.
