어디로 가십니까? Where are You Headed? 

사람에게는  움직임이 필수적입니다.
사람이 움직일 때는 길이 필요합니다.  길이 없는데  갈 수는 없습니다. 그래서   사람답게 사는 사람은   길부터  찾습니다.
인생살이 앞에는   여러 종류의 길이 있습니다. 
생명의 길과 사망의 길, 천국과 지옥의 길,  성공과 실패의 길, 행복과 불행의 길 등이 있습니다.
길의 선택은  자기 자신이 결정하는 것입니다.
길을  잘 못 선택하면  평생을 좌우 합니다.
내 자신이 가야 할 길을  어떤 사람에게나 맡겨서는 돌이킬 수 없는 낭패를 볼 수도 있습니다.
경기도 부천에서 고등학교 2학년 재학 중에 있는 한 남학생이   여름 방학을 맞이해서  친구 2명과 함께  의미 있는 일을 해보자며 전국일주 배낭여행을  하기로  약속을 했습니다. 이들은  설날 새 배 돈 부터 모으기 시작해서 시간 나는 대로 아르바이트도 하면서 비용을 모았습니다. 이들은 배낭여행하다 경비가 부족하면 그 때 그 때  일거리를 찾아 일을 해주면서 마련하기로 했습니다. 서해안인 인천에서 부터 시작해서  25일 만에 남해안을 거쳐 부산을 통과하기 직전이었습니다. 밤길에 초행길이라 길을 알 수가 없었습니다. 더군다나   비가 내리고 있었기 때문에 비를 피할 요량으로 시내버스에   올라탔습니다. "여기가 어딘가요?"라고 학생들끼리 하는 소리를 듣던 50초반 아주머니가 "여기는 내가 잘 알고 있으니 내가 내리라고 하는데서 내리면 되니까 걱정하지 말고 있어"라고 말했습니다. 드디어  그 아주머니가 내리라고 한 곳에 내렸습니다.  한 정거장을 더 지난 다음에  아주머니가 "이거 어쩌지!  내가 착각을 했네! 이다음 정거장인데!, 거기는 범죄가 늘  일어나는 우범지역인데! 큰일 났네!"하면서 근심어린 표정을 지었습니다.
이틀 후에  고등학생 한 사람이 그곳에서 조폭에게 폭행당해 죽고, 두 학생은 인신매매 범들에  의해 원양어선에 태워지는 과정에서 구출되었다는 뉴스가  방송에  나왔습니다.
잘 못 알려준 길이 얼마나 무서운 결과를 가져오는지 알려주고 있습니다.  자기가 가는 길을  알지 못하고 간다는 것은 참으로 비극적인 결과를 가져옵니다.
오늘도 살아가는 길이  생명의 길, 은혜의 길, 축복의 길인지 살펴보고 가십시오. 예수님은  "나는  길이요, 진리요, 생명이다"라고 하셨습니다. 
Where are You Headed? 

Movement is an indispensable to humans, and in order to move, there has to be paths as one cannot go to areas without path. Hence, people who are living like humans search for paths. 

There are, however, a variety of paths in living. Path to life, death, heaven, hell, success, failure, happiness, misfortune, etc. However, one chooses one's own paths. When one chooses a wrong path, their life is greatly influenced for the rest of their life. At times, placing someone else on one's own path can bring about nonreturnable predicaments and difficulties. 

A 11th grader (Junior in High School located in GyeongGi-Do Providence Bucheon city) decided to go on a meaningful backpacking trip with his two friends for summer vacation. From Korean New Year allowance money to part-time jobs, they diligently raised money for the trip. The friends decided to take up a day work during the trip for any amount that was not fully covered. After 25 days since leaving the West Coast Incheon city, they were about to approach Busan city. Since it was a path they have never been on, and it was raining at nighttime, they decided to get on a small city bus. When the students asked, “Where are we?” a lady in her early 50s said, “Rest assured, I am very aware of where we are. When I tell you to get off the bus, get off then.” The students got off the bus when the lady told them to, only for the lady to later come to her sense, “Oh what should I do! I was mistaken! It was supposed to be the next stop! The stop they got off is a crime-ridden district!” 

In a news report two days later, one of high school student was beaten to death by gang, and two other students were barely rescued while boarding a deep-sea fishing vessel by human traffickers. 

The news reminds us of how terrifying results wait for pointing and taking a wrong path. Taking a path that one does not even know brings such a tragic results. 

Today, examine to see if you are walking the path of life, blessing, grace, and favor. Lord Jesus said, “I am the path, truth, and life.”
