예수님  생일 잔치 Jesus Christ's Birthday Party

요즘 아이들 돌잔치는 집안잔치뿐만 아니라 이웃잔치가 되기도 합니다.
할아버지 칠순잔치는 부폐식당에서 하고  아이 돌잔치는 호텔에서 합니다. 그런데 예수님  태어나던 때는 아이들이 태어나도 메스컴이나 동네소문도 없었습니다. 예수님이 오신다는  소식은 구약에  수없이  기록되어 있지만  제대로 챙기는 사람은 별로 없었습니다.
하물며 인류의 구원이시고 전능하신 하나님의 아들로서 모든 하늘의 영광을 버리고 우리의 죄를 대신 담당하실 예수 그리스도의 나타나심에 온 세상이 환호하고 그분에게 영광을 돌리는데 세상이 난리가 날법한데 전혀 그렇지 않습니다.

예수님 탄생에 대해 누구보다 더 잘 알고  탄생 소식을  제일 먼저 전할 거라고  여겼던 유대인들은 까많게 몰랐으며 오히려  이방 사람들이" 예수님이 탄생했다"는 소식을 전해주자  예루살렘에 있는 왕족, 귀족들은  자신들이 누려왔던 기득권을 뺏길까봐  아기 예수님을  죽이려고 찾는다고 한바탕 대소동이 일어났습니다. 유대교인들은 인류의 구원자인 메시아가 예수님이라는 사실에 더 놀란 것입니다.  설마 그리스도가 마구간에 낳을 리가 있겠으며, 어떻게 처녀가  아이를 낳을 리가 있겠느냐? 며  이치에  맞지 않다며   얕은 과학지식과 논리를 앞세워  스스로의 영적무식 함과 몰상식을  덮기 위한  안타까운 몸부림을  칠뿐입니다. 예수님은 구약에서 예언한 그대로 탄생하셨습니다.  대충대충 신앙생활한 사람들은    성경에서 말씀하신 대로 예수 그리스도가 오신   영적인 의미를  잘 알 수가 없습니다. 그러기 때문에 예수님 오심에 대해서 전혀 성경을 읽지 않고 믿지 않는 사람들과 별반 차이가 없기 때문에  예수님 탄생 그 자체에 대해  내가 원했던 선물을 받은 것만큼도 기뻐하거나   감격하지 않습니다.
우리의 삶을 지옥으로 만들어버린 우리의 죄악들이  예수 그리스도의 나심으로   방안에 있던  먼지들이 아침  햇빛에 드러나듯 비추어져  그렇게 순수하고 아름답고 대단하게 여겼던  우리 자신들을  발견하고 어찌할 바를 모른 우리들을  절대적인 사랑으로  죄에서 자유 함과 참 평강과 영생을 얻게 하시려고 이 땅위에 오신 것임을 알게 된 것입니다.

그때나 지금이나 많은 사람들이 예수님 탄생하신 것과   상관없이 살거나  예수님 탄생자체가 이 땅위에 있었던 일인가?라며  아예  무시한 사람들도 많습니다. 성탄절하면 예수님이 주인공인 것만은 사실이지만   예수님이  왜 오셨는지 진정한 의미를 모른 채  예수님과 상관없이 요란스런 축제만 즐기고 있을 뿐입니다.
주님께 드려질  진정한 성탄 축하는  옛날의 자신을 바꿔 변화된  삶을 드리는 거룩한  고백과 희생과 십자가의 능력을 갖는 것입니다.
예수님을  진정으로 만난 사람은 변하지 않는 사람이 아무도 없습니다. 이번 성탄절에  선물보다 예수님을 만난다면  가장 위대하고 멋진 영혼의 축제를   영원히 갖게 될  것입니다. 그 잔치는 골방이든 산골짜기든  외딴곳이든  크고 작은 도시든  상관없이 내 심령 속에 환희가 넘치게 해줍니다. 이렇게 멋진  예수님의 생일잔치가  내 자신의 몫이 되게 하는 것은 왜 예수님이 오셨는지를 정확히 알 때만 가능합니다.   오직 예수 안에 생명과 자유와 참된 평화가 있기 때문입니다.

Jesus Christ's Birthday Party

A celebration of a child's first birthday, these days, are not just for within the family, but also neighbor's feast.
Grandfather's seventieth birthday parties are held at buffet restaurant, while a child's first birthdays are held at hotels. However, the day Lord Jesus came, there was no mass-communication messages or even village rumors. Instead, not many who even cared, even when there were countless records that stated Lord Jesus's coming.

Rather than the whole world glorifying and cheering that the Salvation of the mankind, and Son of omnipotent Lord God cast aside all the glories of heaven to take on our sins, nothing of that kind took place.

Jews, who were to know more about Lord Jesus's birth and should have spread the message of His birth, rather heard from foreign individuals of Lord Jesus's birth, and royalties and nobles went on a killing spree and uproar in fear of losing their vested rights. Jews, instead, were more surprised at the fact that the saviour of the mankind was Lord Jesus. Alternatively, the Jews stated questions such as 'How can a Christ be born in a stable manger, and how can a virgin give a birth to a child?'for it went against their reasons and logic to cover up spiritual foolishness and lack of common sense. Lord Jesus came into this world exactly as the Old Testament prophesied. Those who half-heartily and lukewarmly walk in the faith cannot understand fully the spiritual meaning of Lord Jesus, who came as prophesied by the Holy Bible. Therefore, they are not different from those who never read or believe in the Holy Bible. They are incapable of rejoicing or emotionally being moved about Lord Jesus's birth more than receiving a gift one wanted. 

Our sins, which made our lives in to hell, are exposed because of Lord Jesus Christ's birth, just as dusts in a room is exposed due to sunlight. As such, we discover that we believed to be naive, beautiful, and great even when we were sinners, and that Lord Jesus came to Earth to give us the perfect love that frees us from sins to receive peace, eternal life, and freedom.

Like it was back then, people today either live as if Lord Jesus's birth does not matter, or even ignorant of the fact that Lord Jesus's birth occurred on this Earth. They enjoy the festivals without knowing the true meaning of why Lord Jesus came to this Earth, while acknowledging that Lord Jesus is the main character of Christmas.

The true celebration of Christmas is to offer a truly changed life by the power of repentance and the Cross.

There is not a single person who did not change after truly meeting Lord Jesus. This Christmas, meeting Lord Jesus rather than gifts, would be the most grand and beautiful festival of soul for eternity. That festival brings delight to the soul no matter where one is at, on mountain top, cottage, dell, mansion, or big or small cities. Such a splendid Lord Jesus's birthday party becomes my share only when one understands accurately why Lord Jesus came since only when one is in Lord Jesus can one experience life, freedom, and true peace.
